Mecha Maiko is an experimental electronic project by Hayley Stewart. Having cut her teeth in the synthwave scene, her current productions run the gamut of electro, industrial, synthpop, and beyond. Her lyrics often wrap prickly subjects in a playful sound, singing about everything from feeding fishies to resisting fascism.

Her last album, NOT OK, received a nomination for Electronic Album of The Year at the 2023 Juno Awards. She’s also the co-owner of Right Click 2 Download, an artist-run label based in MTL & TO.

Maiko's had the pleasure of playing live and DJing across North America and Europe, some highlights being festivals such as NXNE, Terminus, NEON, Outland, and VHS Vision.
